GRADUATE FORESTER
Location: Perthshire & Inverness
Salary: £25,000 - £28,000
Galbraith is a leading land management firm operating across Scotland and Northern England providing advice on forestry, farm, land and estate interests totalling over 1.5 million hectares.
Galbraith Forestry manages over 30,000 hectares of privately owned commercial and estate forestry and delivers woodland creation schemes of all types up and down the country, ranging from farm woodlands to upland plantations and landscape scale native woodland schemes.
We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals to join our busy and expanding team in Perth and Inverness assisting with our growing and varied portfolio of clients across Scotland. We want to provide the opportunity for you to develop professionally and progress within a supportive team environment.
In this role, you will be involved in many aspects of forestry including the planning and implementation of woodland creation projects, preparing applications for grant funding and felling permissions, marketing standing timber and monitoring harvesting operations, and preparing reports and long-term forest plans.
The successful candidate will have at least one year’s practical forestry experience and a relevant Forestry qualification is essential. With appropriate support, you must be committed to achieving Professional Membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters. QGIS mapping experience is desirable.
You will be an effective communicator, with the ability to liaise confidently with colleagues, clients and contractors, and will have an analytical and pro-active approach to solving problems.
A full UK Driving Licence is essential.
