FORESTRY INVESTMENT ADVISOR

Sustainable forestry investment and natural capital opportunities, including woodland creation for carbon, has generated heightened levels of demand across Tilhill’s client base for acquisition and consultancy services for land and forests. With this, we are looking for two professionals to join our forestry investment team.

Some responsibilities of a Forestry Investment Advisor include:

• Monitoring the rural land market and networking to identify new opportunities.
• Visiting and surveying properties.
• Interpreting mapping data to produce financial models.
• Reporting on investment returns and risks.
• Advising and developing clients.
• Liaising with intermediaries and coordinating conveyancing.
• Thought leadership on forestry in the context of climate, biodiversity, and finance.
• Supporting forestry colleagues on investment matters.

About you
We’re passionate about using our scale and capabilities to enhance our people’s knowledge and skills. As such, this role(s) is ideal for a commercially minded forestry professional looking to develop their career as an investment specialist, or an investment professional (CFA/CAIA or similar), interested in becoming an expert in the forestry, woodland carbon, and natural capital sectors.

With strong relationship management skills, you’re able to build and maintain exceptional rapport with Tilhill clients. In addition to this, we’re ideally looking for:

• Degree or Diploma in a Forestry, Land Management, Natural Capital, or Investment related subject(s).
• Sound knowledge or demonstrable interest in the UK rural land market.
• Strong aptitude for Microsoft Excel and interpreting maps.
• Expertise in forestry investment and natural capital would be highly advantageous.
• Analytical and innovative approach.
• Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters, RICS, or other relevant professional accreditation, such as CFA or CAIA.
• Full driving licence.
