MANUFACTURER Milwaukee is introducing a new electric chainsaw - powered by not one but two batteries.
The M18 FUEL Dual is a 50 cm chainsaw that generates more power than 60cc petrol saws, and is optimised for medium to heavy demand felling, bucking, limbing, and stump cutting applications
"Delivering faster cutting with reduced stalls", and "providing users with a balanced design for more control in application", the saw can achieve chain speeds of 14.3 m/s, boasts a max torque of 9.5 Nm, and max power of 5.8 hp.
A press release added: "The integrated Powerstate Brushless Motor delivers 5.8 hp peak power and 9.5 Nm of peak torque when using 2x M18 FORGE 8.0 Ah batteries, allowing users to make demanding cuts without bogging down to drive more efficiency in application.
"Providing added control in application, the power mode select capability enables users to run the saw in Standard Power Mode with 4.4 hp or Peak Power Mode with 5.8 hp to allow operators increased control over power output.
"Standard Power Mode maximises run time and runs cooler, while Peak Power Mode provides maximum power to prevent stalls in the most demanding applications.
"With high visibility felling sights and dual metal bucking spikes, the saw offers a user demanded feature set and delivers a balanced design to drive efficiency and ease of use.
"As a battery powered solution, this M18 FUEL Dual Battery Chainsaw eliminates the headaches of petrol such as pull starts, high noise levels, emissions, and regular engine maintenance."
The M18 FUEL Dual Battery Chainsaw 50 cm is fully compatible with the entire M18 line, now offering more than 290 solutions.
