THE Forest Industry Safety Accord (FISA) has announced the official launch of its brand-new FWM (Forestry Works Manager) Sub-Group.
Forestry professionals are invited to attend the formal event at the Forest Workers Zone on the first day of the APF Exhibition, which begins on September 19.
Responsible for delivering critical training and competencies advice for the forest industries and the other FISA Working Groups, the subgroup will also bring together experts and professionals committed to improving the training standards, while focusing on promoting a robust safety culture within the industry.
A FISA spokesperson added: "This sub-group has been established to focus on training, competency standards, and skills development, providing expert advice and support to promote safer and more efficient practices across the forestry sector.
"The FWM Sub-Group will serve as a hub for collaboration and innovation, bringing together experts and professionals committed to improving the training standards whilst focusing on promoting a robust safety culture within the industry.
"We invite trainers, assessors, training providers, colleges, and all like-minded professionals in the forestry training community to join us for this launch event.
"Whether you're directly involved in training and development or have a stake in improving competencies across the sector, your input will be invaluable as we work together to shape the future of training and standards in the forest industries."
The launch event will take place at 9:30 AM on Thursday, September 19, in the Forest Workers Zone at the APF Show.
"By attending, you will be among the first to learn about new opportunities for collaboration and will play a role in the ongoing development of essential training initiatives aimed at fostering safety and competency throughout the forest sector," the spokesperson added. "The FWM Sub-Group intends to meet twice yearly, ensuring consistent and accessible engagement for all members.
"The aim is to meet in person when possible, however virtual attendance is possible, offering a valuable opportunity for deeper collaboration and relationship-building.
"These meetings will serve as a platform to review progress, introduce new initiatives, and ensure the ongoing development of training standards that meet the evolving needs of the forest industries.
"We look forward to welcoming you to this pivotal event as we embark on this new journey together toward improving training standards across the forest industries."
There is no need to RSVP to this event; just turn up and take a seat.
APF is the UK's largest forestry and tree-care related event, taking place at the Ragley Estate between September 19 and 21. Forestry Journal is the official media partner of APF and the place to catch all the news, interviews, and highlights from the show.
