FORESTRY and Land Scotland (FLS) is looking to add several foresters to its team in the West Region. 

The successful candidates will oversee multiple areas of the government agency's work, including planting, rewetting peatland, and timber delivery. 

Working withing 2,655 hectares of ancient semi-natural woodland and 145,000 ha of forest and land holding, FLS's foresters will play a key role in delivering Scotland's climate objectives.

Foresters are responsible for the delivery of a programme of work including planting and maintaining the forest; rewetting peatland and managing habitats; and ensuring timely and efficient timber supply to customers. Foresters line manage our operational teams and ensure contractors deliver to expectations. Foresters directly deliver Scotland’s biodiversity and climate change objectives, support the economy and contribute to local communities.

West Region has a diverse forest and land structure based on the beautiful North West coast of the country with 2,655 ha of ancient semi-natural woodland and 145000 ha of forest and land holdings, spread across a diverse coastal and inland landscape.

To be successful in this role you will need experience in Forestry and posses or be working towards a further education qualification in a forestry related discipline.
