ONE of arboriculture’s leading manufacturers has announced the release of several new products for the UK.
Notch Equipment says the fresh kit – which includes a chest harness and micro pulley – is designed to help arborists work safer, quicker, and more efficiently. The VSG Brand has also added a lanyard manager and saw strap to its line-up.
Described as a “simple and durable saw strap”, the updated 2-N-1 Chainsaw Lanyard features improved stitching, higher quality webbing and a colour revamp. The large snap is easy to handle with gloves on.
Elsewhere, Notch’s Micro Pulley boasts a low profile and lightweight design, which is said to make it easy to carry in the tree and cuts down on the bulk in climbing systems. The swinging side plates make it midline attachable and easy to use. This Micro Pulley is made with aluminum alloy and stainless steel so it stands up to the rigors of the job.
It is compatible with ropes up to 12.9 mm in diameter.
Also added to the brand’s UK line-up is the Sidekick lanyard manager, which Notch says makes “tangles a thing of the past”. Said to be super simple and lightweight, it allows you to be more efficient in the canopy, while keeping your work positioning lanyard snag-free.
Finally, the Chester SRS chest harness is purpose-built for single-rope technique (SRT). Made from lightweight and durable nylon webbing, the Chester is “more comfortable and a serious upgrade from using a makeshift rope and carabiner”.
