ONE of the UK's leading agricultural research hubs is looking for a forestry worker to join its team.
The James Hutton Institute is seeking a dedicated individual to carry out estate maintenance work on its 1,000-hectare Glensaugh Farm in Grampian.
According to the institute: "Glensaugh is located in north-east Scotland in the Grampian foothills.

"It is managed as an upland livestock farm, just over 1000ha in area, with sheep, cattle and red deer, improved and extensive pastures, moorland, woodland and peatland.
"The James Hutton Institute's research farms have long been at the forefront of innovation in land and agricultural practices, trialling and testing new farm methods, livestock and crops.
"Now, more than ever, they are needed to test and demonstrate transformative ways of managing our land."

Main Purpose of the Job
• Carry out forestry & estate maintenance work.
• Provide occasional support with livestock work and experimental projects.
• Maintain existing woodland, plant new woodland and maintain the infrastructure of the estate.
• The post holder will be given responsibility for certain areas within the business when they have been trained and have demonstrated competence.
