MANUFACTURER Westtech has unveiled an excavator-mounted mulcher.

The M105 has a cutting width of 1,050 mm and can be attached to a machine with a weight of between seven and 14 tonnes.

Featuring an axial piston rotating motor with optimum efficiency in two different sizes, the kit is made of high-strength Hardox steel, designed to have a long lifespan.

A Westtech spokesperson said: “On the to-do-list of every landowner or contractor is the maintenance of green areas from spring to autumn.

“Green areas must be maintained like arable land – independent of size, location, and the vegetation.

“Unfortunately, some green areas are not suited for grazing or for mowing because of various reasons. That is the reason, why Westtech, a mechanical engineering company in Upper Austria, developed the mulcher for maintaining overgrown greens.”

The machine is designed for mulching in both directions, which enables highest efficiency during work. The attrition skids are easily changeable if necessary. The mulcher has the ideal working width for roadside and train paths maintenance, and is suitable for keeping forest roads clear.

Forestry Journal:

It can be used for maintenance of all overgrown areas, where grazing or mowing is not possible, for maintenance of roadsides or embankments and for maintenance of banks.

The mulcher is the perfect addition to soil care in the forest, Westtech says.

There are different options available:

  • A cylinder swivel unit for perfect adjustment on a hillside.
  • The second option is a knife mulch unit instead of the chain mulch unit.
