THE Institute of Chartered Foresters (ICF) has announced the appointment of a new executive director.
Louise Simpson will assume the role from July, replacing Shireen Chambers, who is standing down at the end of June after 15 years with the organisation.
With more than two decades’ experience in senior positions, Louise, currently the ICF's development director, fought off competition from around 20 applicants for the position.

President of the Institute, Sharon Durdant-Hollamby, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled that Louise has been appointed as executive director.
"At a time of significant growth for our sector, she will lead a strong team and guide the Institute effectively through our 2022–2026 Strategic Plan.
"The quality of applicants was high and Louise’s appointment is a real achievement.
