SWEDISH manufacturer Husqvarna has unveiled its latest generation of 90 cc chainsaws, designed with the largest and toughest forestry and urban tree care applications in mind.
The two new models – the 592 XP and 585 – are described as extremely powerful and efficient, “with a level of manoeuvrability rarely found in saws of this size and power.”
In developing the newest generation of 90 cc class chainsaws, Husqvarna has collaborated closely with professional forestry and tree workers from around the world. The result is two models that combine power, durability, and reliability with excellent manoeuvrability, says Husqvarna.
The most advanced of the two, the 592 XP, has been developed for the most demanding users, while the 585 is aimed at the professional that requires an easy-to-use, yet powerful chainsaw.
“We are excited to finally launch these 90 cc chainsaws, as we know there is a strong demand in the market,” said Gent Simmons, global portfolio director for tree professionals at Husqvarna.
“With these products, we have managed, at the same time, to push performance to the limit and offer users unparalleled productivity with the 592 XP, whilst delivering a modernised version of a trusted technology with the rugged 585. The power of these saws, combined with their light weight and excellent manoeuvrability, really places them in a class of their own.”
592 XP
The Husqvarna 592 XP is described as a robustly built chainsaw with high performance for tough conditions and best-in-class power-to-weight ratio (according to tests performed by RISE SMP in April 2021). It can easily handle 36” bars and is available with the new lightweight Husqvarna X-Tough Light bar. According to the manufacturer, it is best paired with X-Cut C85 and C83 chains to bring out its outstanding cutting capacity.
New low-weight components combined with the X-Tough Light Bar make it significantly lighter than its predecessors. The reduced weight, combined with optimised balance and improved handle shape, make it possible to work in greater comfort, for longer. Thanks to its X-Torq engine, emissions are reduced at the same time as performance is pushed to the limit. The simpler start technology, made possible by AutoTune 3.0, ensures that the engine starts quickly, regardless of the conditions in the park or forest.
The 592 XP also offers Bluetooth connectivity, meaning it can be retrofitted with a Husqvarna connectivity device, paired with Fleet Services, which tracks the product for easier maintenance and management. The connectivity device will be available later this autumn.
585
The Husqvarna 585 is described as an extremely durable chainsaw that performs in all conditions. Featuring a tough and durable design, it can handle 36” bars and the new X-Tough series of Solid Bars. With a needle carburettor that can be easily adjusted, combined with better balance and convenient features, it perfectly pairs traditional technology with modern development, says Husqvarna.
Just as with 592 XP, the X-Cut C85 and C83 chains are said to bring out the excellent cutting capacity of the 585. It also features the X-Torq engine, which reduces both fuel consumption and emissions.
