POLAND'S State Forests National Holding has launched a pilot project to use mobile data management platform Timbeter in the Nowe Ramuki Forest District of the country.

During the pilot project, the Nowe Ramuki Forest District will use Timbeter’s artificial technology and machine learning for measurements, and digital reporting.

It will also use Timbeter’s cloud storage solution to save all the information in digital form, providing a real-time overview of all the measurements made in different parts of the district by different officials.

The pilot project is scheduled to run until the end of August 2020, with the goal of assessing the use of Timbeter in Poland State Forest operations.

The forestry sector in many countries around the world, including Poland, has been designated as a critical activity during the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Timbeter, its technology makes it possible to reduce human contact and follow guidelines of social distancing in many cases.

Anna-Greta Tsahkna, CEO of Timbeter, said: "There is a need for increasing the efficiency of daily operations performed in the forestry sector all over the world, as well as a requirement for centralisation of data for timber management and oversight of operations. Timbeter enables state forests and companies around the world to bring transparency and traceability to the whole supply chain and minimise possible errors."
