In this series of articles, we will be sharing exclusive coverage from APF 2024.
NICK Dinsdale, the MD of UK importer NCD Equipment, saw footage of a TMK grapple-saw on social media. He got in touch with the producer and a short time later he turned up at the factory in Hankasalmi, Finland.
The tree shear he had delivered to the UK was of great benefit for the contract he had for clearing woody vegetation beneath power lines.
Tree shears have been the main product of TMK, with the latest development from Hankasalmi being the TMK150. Weighing only 75kg, the new tree shear allows those with smaller machinery to take advantage of mechanised cutting of stems up to 150 mm in diameter.
At TMK, two new developments are on the horizon, the Grapple Saw and the ‘Hold and Cut’. Both are in the pilot development stage and have been operational in some countries including Finland and Denmark.
TMK actively recruits contractors to trial all their new machinery before it is released for sale in its final form.
Nick Dinsdale is the contact for sales and information throughout Great Britain and Ireland.
Elsewhere, Gary Rogers has recently become the new MD of the British Hardwood Tree Nursery.
Married into a local agricultural family, he lives only a few miles from his place of business. Yolanda MacGregor is Marketing and Purchasing Manager for BHT.
Gary, who has considerable experience in development and sales operations, explained that although selling bare-rooted trees is a new experience he has great support from the team who assisted Andrew Henderson.
“There’s a new hand on the steering wheel but my aim is to grow the team and continue Andrew’s successful enterprise.”
