In this series of articles, we will be sharing exclusive coverage from APF 2024.
Another exhibitor taking advantage of the APF to let people see what its products are capable of was Maidenhead-based Doyle Machinery.
A company offering a wide range of mechanical handling and processing machinery to various industries across the UK and Ireland, it recently became a dealer for Ufkes Greentec’s Forest Line of woodchippers.
It brought quite a variety of kit to show off at APF 2024, from the Cheetah 30 chipper, to the Jaguar 40 drum chipper and heavyweight 800 hp Panthera.
Area sales manager Rory Palmer said: “The Panthera is the biggest chipper in the Forest Line. The one on our stand is the pre -production model and it will be going into production early next year. There have been a few changes made between this prototype and the versions that are going into production, but basically it’s a great chipper that can do massive logs and the throughput is unmatched.
“It’s been designed and built to compete with the other big chippers that are coming onto the market which have recently seen increased popularity. The Panthera will be available either on a hook lift, on a truck unit, or on tracks.
“The market for it really is big biomass producers creating chip to go to power stations – guys who are out chipping 365 days a year chipping and who want a good, high-quality chip. There are quite a few brands on the market at the minute, but the build quality that Ufkes has is second to none. It's the basics done well and that's what people want.”
