Sometimes it’s not the size that matters it’s what you do with it.
Here we take a look at a few of the chippers on the market that are ideal for dealing with smaller loads.
FÖRST
FÖRST said it wouldn’t build a sub 750 kg woodchipper unless it was so confident in its strength, performance and longevity it could place its three–year warranty stamp on it. It went ahead and did it when they built the ST6P.
It’s a genuine, hardy tool which builds on Först’s reputation for no-holds-barred performance and features, with a robust and tough construction. The ST6P hosts a 37 hp petrol engine, offering staggering performance and chipping speed for a sub-750 kg machine, perfect for urban jobs. It picks up quicker than a diesel when the no-stress cuts in, making it fast and, incredibly, as fuel-efficient as the diesel equivalent. Featuring the Först open flywheel system, chip from the ST6P is thrown, not blown, right to the front of the wagon, making blockages on wet material no longer a problem. The Först AutoIntelligence control takes care of the electrics with a completely water and vibration proof system for outstanding reliability.
The illuminated touchpad IP 69 rated feed controls remove any possibility of water and vibration issues related to electrics. They are located conveniently either side of the hopper. The FörstGrip feed roller system features a twin hydraulic horizontal feed with exceptional grip on timber and the large top feed lifts on an arc, making climbing butt ends exceptional. Twin heavy-duty springs and large bearings either side of the roller ensure strength and durability. Machine width is 1,335 mm, length 3,350 mm and height with chute 2,280 mm.
Först was first in the industry to offer a three–year warranty, supported by the dedicated FörstAssist team, available either on the phone or in person to keep you working.

GLOBAL Recycling Solutions
GLOBAL Recycling Solutions is delighted to announce the launch of the Pronar MR-15 woodchipper. This long-awaited sub-750 kg chipper is set to take the industry by storm, combining portability with power.
The construction of the MR-15 is based on a single-axle chassis with a maximum weight not exceeding 750 kg. The standard 50 mm trailer coupling allows the MR-15 to be towed with ease, comfort and safety. The chipper features overrun brakes, a 12-volt trailer lighting system and reflective markings that ensure its visibility to other road users.
The use of a heavy-duty jockey wheel attached to the frame, along with a handbrake, allows the chipper to be safely and reliably installed in both working and storage environments.
The powerful MR-15 can handle material with a maximum diameter of 150 mm. Limbs and branches are hand fed into a foldable infeed hopper where they are met with twin hydraulically driven feed rollers. The speed of the feed rollers is fully adjustable and can be adapted to the diameter of the material being processed, increasing productivity. The automatic stress control system is built into the onboard control system which also monitors further safety systems on the machine.
Featuring a simple-to-use display, all functions of the chipper can be monitored from the display including fault diagnostics.
The MR-15 is equipped with a Briggs & Stratton Vanguard EFI 37 HP 993 cc V-Twin petrol engine, which, through a belt transmission, drives the chip disc, which features a pair of hardened steel knives.
The chipper features a folding discharge spout, which allows for storage in height restricted areas, along with being fully adjustable when in use to direct the flow of woodchip.
The latest style infeed hopper safety system features water and shockproof mechanical buttons, ensuring safety in all environments. The mounted six-position greasing block simplifies maintenance work on the rotating parts of the chipper.
The sales team at Global Recycling Solutions is with the customer from beginning to end, offering expert advice that is tailored to their business and where applicable, offering demonstrations in their own working environment.

Jensen
JENSEN – the original manufacturer of premium woodchippers – provides some of the best sub-750 kg models of any manufacturer.
Take a look at the road-towable, 6˝ capacity A530, one of its most popular models. Fitted with a choice of either Stage V certified diesel engines, petrol 35 HP or 24 HP Briggs and Stratton Vanguard engines, these high productivity chippers ensure low emissions in clean air zones.
New for 2022 is the latest A530 model, powered by the all new 37 HP EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) Vanguard engine. The EFI system tunes itself according to demands on the engine, providing optimum power and fuel economy whatever the task.
The A530 range is designed for the professional arborist or grounds contractors. Standard-fit electronic safety sensors ensure exceptional safety, while the Jensen patented intermeshing feed rollers deliver industry-leading processing, dealing with awkward material whilst maintaining maximum grip.
The two blades, which cut the timber, are the largest in our industry, spanning the full diameter of the heavy duty flywheel. Designed for longevity and robustness, the Jensen A530 has a durable galvanised chassis, a single control box to record hours and servicing intervals, as well as a fitted toolbox containing a comprehensive servicing tool kit – it doesn’t get any better than this.
Another benefit of the Jensen range is the option for customers to choose a fully customised build. Whatever your requirements, Jensen can work with you to produce a machine that is perfect for you. Factory-fitted winches, your own choice of paint colour, turntable options, mechanical folding chutes and much more.

GreenMech
The pedestrian woodchipper range from GreenMech combines accessibility with powerful performance, with machines designed to make light work of timber, vegetation and woody waste.
The CS80 and CS100 models offer an impressive 100 mm chipping capacity, ideal for the professional landscaper, arborist and gardens manager.
The entry-level CS80 is powered by an economical Loncin 12 HP pull-start engine and features twin long-life reversible blades made of high-grade steel, for effective chipping and easy re-sharpening. Its wide infeed chute design means large volumes of bushy material can be processed with minimal snedding to save the operator both time and money.
For added convenience, the discharge chute can also be adjusted to disperse the chip produced up to 5 m in any direction. The CS80 is the perfect solution for jobs in small spaces at just 760 mm wide, meaning access and manoeuvrability is no issue.
Further up the range, GreenMech’s CS100 range has proven itself to be a small, yet mighty workhorse, powered by either a 16 or 18 HP Vanguard petrol engine. As with the CS80, its high-output chipping ability is provided by twin blades – completing the heavy-duty specification of a machine which delivers the perfect balance of convenience and strength. The tractor-mounted CS100 TMP model is also available, to utilise the horsepower of tractors of up to 30 HP. Both the CS80 and CS100 models have the option of a bespoke trailer for ease of transportation, and as with the entire GreenMech range, are covered by a three–year no quibble parts and labour warranty as standard.
